Buses, trains, monorails and ferry services operate daily.


The Sydney Pass is a ticket that allows unlimited use of buses, ferries and trains within the city, harbor cruises, Explorer Bus and Bondi Explorer Bus tours. A three-day ticket costs AS$85 for adults, A$45 for children, and A$215 for families. There are also five-day and seven-day tickets that can be used within that period.

Tourist attraction

Circular Quay is the departure point for ferries, trains and buses that connect the city with the suburbs. Walk along the east side of Circular Quay and visit the Sydney Opera House, Australia's most famous landmark. Take a tour inside the theater or attend operas, concerts, plays or ballets.

Darling Harbor is a port area that has been fully restored and currently hosts great entertainment options. Visit the National Maritime Museum, the Powerhouse Museum and the Sydney Aquarium, with its display of the Great Barrier Reef, which gives an idea of the diversity of Australian marine life. The town center draws visitors with an interest in shopping primarily to Castlereagh and Elizabeth Streets. Sydney beaches

Start in famous Bondi and enjoy one of the many events, such as the annual City-to-Surf race or one of the colorful surf parties. Manly is also a must visit. Like Bondi, it is known by Brazilians residing in the city and is home to a large number of young people looking for a better quality of life. It is famous for its relaxed atmosphere, typical of the Australian way of life. Other popular beaches are Nielsen Park, Balmoral and Camp Cove just inside the bay, or the surfing beaches of Bronte and Coogee to the south and Collaroy and Palm to the north.

Sydney Olympic Park

Discover the place where Olympic athletes won their gold medals. Homebush Bay was the area chosen to house the Sydney Olympic Park, the State Sports Centre, Bicentennial Park, the Super Dome gymnasium, the Athletic and Aquatic Centres, Stadium Australia and the Olympic Village. There is a wide variety of tours that go back and explore the region that concentrated the world's attractions during the 2000 Olympics.

Sydney Bus Museum

The bus museum is right next to the leichhardt bus terminal. The tram building was originally a maintenence shed and was later used for buses. They have an excellent display of buses dating from the 1920s to the 2000s. There are many hands on displays and entry is permitted on many of the vintage buses.

One Day Trips

Located 104 km west of Sydney, the Blue Mountains are part of a high sandstone plateau with wooded valleys, gorges, waterfalls and craggy cliffs. Walk through the villages See the beautiful rock formations of the Three Sisters. Take a tram or train for a view of the Jenolan Caves, 80 km southwest of Katoomba, the Mt Tomah Botanical Gardens or the Marshes. The mountains are a hiker's paradise, with many hidden trails to be explored. The internationally renowned Hunter Valley Wine Country is located 195 km north of Australia's wine producing region.


A two and a half hour drive north of Sydney is Port Stephens. Enjoy white sand beaches, fishing or dolphin watching expeditions. Discover koalas in their natural habitat on the Tilligerry Peninsula.

Other Places to Visit

The Snowy Mountains, located 526km west of Sydney, are home to bustling ski resorts such as Thredbo, Perisher Blue Mt Selwyn and Charlotte Pass. They usually run from June to October. Broken Hill is a typical Australian outback town (desert) 1,244 km west of Sydney. It was built at the time of the wealth of the silver mines. Today it is home to an artists' colony.

In Barrington Tops there are rainforests and mountains. Stretching from the Royal National Park to the Shoalhaven River, the Illawarra and Southern Highlands are ideal places for peaceful walks and a weekend getaway.
