Cabinet Making
Certificate III In Cabinet Making and Timber Technology
Medium and Long Term Strategic Occupations List (MLTSSL)
Cabinet makers have good job prospects both in Australia and abroad. The high level of employability, the growth of the field, and the recent boom in construction are strong reasons to consider pursuing this profession.
Most of a cabinet maker's work is done in new residential, commercial, and retail construction. Unlike carpenters, cabinet makers typically work in factories, where they custom-build kitchen, bathroom, and retail cabinets, which are then installed on-site.
Carpenters, on the other hand, tend to build larger structures directly on the construction site, and often move locations for each new project.
